event recap

Goblin King Masquerade Ball

2023

I began working with Awkward Nerd Events (ANE) in 2023, photographing a Barbie-themed pop-up bar that they hosted in Bay View to celebrate the release of the movie Barbie. I was so excited when ANE invited me back to film and edit their Goblin King Masquerade Ball, a special two-night event that immersed guests into the world of Labyrinth.

Bunyan and Henry by Mark Cecil
2023

At the end of 2020, I joined the volunteer organization A Mighty Blaze, condensing many hours of their Zoom videos down to 3-minute promos for their weekly interviews with authors. Through this volunteership, I was able to connect with authors like Mark, who later contacted me about editing a promotional video for his upcoming book.

The Glass Chateau
by Stephen Kiernan

2023

Another nice connection made through A Mighty Blaze! Using archival images and photos provided by the author, I edited six short book trailers, formatted for social media, to promote the release of The Glass Chateau by Stephen Kiernan.

Amano Pan
2022

My passion for supporting local talent and restaurants prompted me to do pro-bono video work for Edgar Cuarezma's pop-up bakery "Amano Pan" and Barbara Cerda's non-profit project "Barby the Book Fairy." (below)

Barby the Book Fairy
2021

When I learned about Barby the Book Fairy in mid-2020, I immediately contacted Barby to see if I could help spread the word of her mission. The result is this mini-doc.

Barbara Cerda distributes books to Free Little Libraries in her neighborhood of Lincoln Village, a low-income area of Milwaukee, under the name "Barby the Book Fairy." She focuses on sharing diverse literature that a variety of readers can relate to, and she does it with the help of her daughters, and with the help of others in communities around Milwaukee. As of 2023, she has opened a bookstore with her sister called La Revo Books.

Eaux Claires Music Festival
2016

Eaux Claires (2015) was the first music festival I'd attended, and whether because it was my first experience or because it was the first year of the festival, it was enchanting and a very special experience. I came back in 2016 and captured as much of the (for lack of a better phrase) ~good vibes~ as possible.
