WHAT I WRITE

Creative non-fiction lets me explore and work to understand my past and, by extension, my present. (see: "Excerpts from 'Frames'")

 

My career at Porchlight Book Company has allowed me to both write professional pieces like book reviews as well as more conversational pieces for social media posts.

I've gravitated toward the loose rules of poetry through much of my life, and I've incorporated original poems into many of my experimental films

I strive to generate empathy, and focus on emotional responses through my writing and other works. I achieve this through vivid and poetic interpretations and narratives that reveal a transformation in thinking, being, or understanding.
